October New Moon Esbat

The Firefly House invites you to join us for a (roughly) one hour New Moon esbat on Tuesday, October 21, at 8:00pm.

Our esbats move in patterns of three: two that focus on journey work, a form of guided meditation that includes open-ended questions so that each of us experiences something a little different and uniquely special. The third esbat in the pattern will be more experimental where we come up with something else to do that evening. It could be a bit of magic, maybe a prayer workshop, or even an open mic poetry reading! You never know what it could be! (Until we tell you.)

Because October does not contain a solstice or an equinox, this will be one of our months of journeywork. Appropriate for the season, our journey this time will be into the underworld to meet with our ancestors and see what messages or gifts they might have for us in these times.

Regardless, whether you're in the Washington DC area or you'll be joining us from far, far away, we hope to see you on the 21st!

(For the Firefly House, ancestors includes those of blood, spirit, and the mighty dead. Ancestors of blood are those that you are genetically related to while ancestors of spirit are those who have died that you feel a personal or even professional connection to. Finally, the mighty dead are those luminaries within the Pagan community that have died who were as flawed and complicated as we are, but who also helped to break the ground on which the foundations of the House rest today.)
