Knowing that fermented foods can support gut health is one thing. Knowing which foods to choose, how much to eat and how to include them in everyday meals is another.
In Episode 2 of The Gut-Health Connection, Dt. Asha and The Flavor Bag: Unbagged will move from understanding the gut to putting that knowledge into practice.
We will explore:

  • How fermentation changes food and supports beneficial microorganisms
  • Familiar Indian fermented foods such as curd, buttermilk, idli-dosa batter, kanji and traditionally fermented pickles
  • How fermented foods differ from probiotic supplements
  • How frequently and in what portions they may be included
  • Whether every fermented food is automatically healthy
  • What to look for when buying packaged fermented foods
  • Who may need to be cautious with certain fermented foods
  • Simple ways to build a food-first, gut-friendly routine

We will also discuss common questions around acidity, salt, preservatives, refrigeration, reheating and whether cooking destroys the benefits of fermented foods.
This is not about chasing food trends or treating one ingredient as a miracle cure. It is a practical conversation about using familiar foods thoughtfully, alongside balanced meals, movement, sleep and other everyday habits.
You can attend Episode 2 even if you missed Episode 1, although watching both sessions will give you a more complete understanding.
