Every month in 2026, The Foodie Fellowship will feature a meetup with a different regional cuisine from India or inspired by the cuisines of the Indian subcontinent.

This September, The Foodie Fellowship is heading to Almere for something a little different: an entire afternoon dedicated to the food, music and culture of the Bhojpuri-speaking regions of India! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ
Weโ€™ll be visiting the Bhojpuri Food & Cultural Fest 2026, organised by the Bihar Foundation Netherlands.

๐Ÿ› Discover Bhojpuri & Bihari food
The Bhojpuri cultural region stretches across parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring areas, and has its own distinctive culinary traditions.
For us foodies, the main attraction will of course be the food stalls, where weโ€™ll have the opportunity to explore authentic Bhojpuri and Bihari dishes and regional specialties. The organisers specifically encourage visitors to come hungry and discover the flavours of the region! ๐Ÿ˜‹
Rather than sitting down for one restaurant meal, this will give us a chance to wander around the festival together, try different things from the stalls and share our discoveries.

๐Ÿ’ƒ More than just food!
There will also be plenty happening between bites. The festival programme includes:
๐ŸŽถ Traditional Bhojpuri folk music and songs
๐Ÿ’ƒ Cultural dance performances
๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Bhojpuri and Bihari cultural showcases
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ A lively, family-friendly community atmosphere
The idea is to experience not only the cuisine, but some of the culture and traditions surrounding it as well.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Tickets
Entry costs โ‚ฌ6 per person for everyone aged 10 and above. Children under 10 enter for free. Tickets can be obtained through the official event page.

๐Ÿš— Free parking is available for visitors.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The plan
Weโ€™ll meet at the festival venue at 12:00 and explore the festival together. Youโ€™re welcome to stay for the whole afternoon or leave earlier if you prefer.
This should be a particularly interesting event for anyone who enjoys discovering regional Indian cuisines beyond the dishes normally found in Indian restaurants in the Netherlands.

As always, please RSVP only if you genuinely intend to join us, and update your RSVP if your plans change.
Come hungry, bring your curiosity, and join us for an afternoon of Bhojpuri food, music and culture in Almere! ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ›๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ
