What we’re about
Let's be honest nobody really knows where AI is heading... and perhaps most importantly, no one knows where it will finish up - and that’s exactly why we’re here.
This group is for anyone in Sydney and beyond who's curious, concerned, or completely captivated by Artificial Intelligence. Whether you’re building AI products, teaching others how to use them, an investor, or just trying to keep up with the daily firehose of news, you’re welcome here.
Our conversations will range from the practical to the philosophical. From how to get the most out of the latest tools like Chat GPT, to the bigger questions: How will this shape the workplace? Society? Art? even relationships - and what should we be doing about it?
The meetup won’t have all the answers - but we think the best way to figure things out is to do it together, out loud.
Each meetup will be a chance to connect, share, debate, and experiment in a safe environment. We’ll bring in guest speakers, do live demos, run workshops, and create a space for honest conversations.
If you’re keen to make the most of this fast-changing wave - and maybe have some fun while you're at it - and to meet others that are in the same boat - then come along. We’re building a curious, action-oriented community, and there’s room for your voice at the table.
If there are topics you want covered, or are interested in speaking at our event that helps stimulate the conversation, then please just reach out to the organisers.
Let’s talk about the future of AI together - even if nobody really knows what it looks like...

AI: White-Collar Recession? Or White-Collar Reinvention?
UTS Startups, 3, Broadway,Ultimo NSW 2007, Sydney, AU# AI: White-Collar Recession or White-Collar Reinvention?
After a great first event, we’re back with our second event in The Future of AI (Probably…) series, proudly hosted with our venue partner UTS Startups.
Graduate jobs are shrinking, entry-level pathways are evaporating, and the roles once considered “recession-proof” are suddenly under threat. With industry leaders saying this is the most difficult hiring climate in modern history, and the FT called it "the graduate jobpocalypse", is this the dawn of a white-collar recession, or a chance to reinvent how we all work, train, and build careers?
Join us for panel discussion with industry insiders from the coalface being affected by AI - recruitment, education, and emerging tech. Our panellists will talk about what they are seeing and hearing first-hand, and provide insights as to what we can all do about it...
## Why this event?
These threats to entry-level jobs, some companies risk building diamond-shaped org charts.
We’ll ask:
- Is the white-collar recession already here? How deep could it run?
- What does it mean when firms pause graduate hiring for 2+ years?
- How do we avoid a “missing middle” of mid-career talent in 3–5 years?
- Are micro-credentials, apprenticeships, or short courses the new way forward?
Whether you’re a graduate, a manager, or simply curious, you’ll leave with:
✅ Clearer insights into what the data really says
✅ Fresh perspectives from recruiters, educators, and technologists
✅ Actionable ideas for building resilience in your own career***
