Join us for our September Classics Book Club meeting where we will delve into Henry Miller’s provocative and groundbreaking novel, Tropic of Cancer. Set in 1930s Paris, this controversial work blends autobiography and fiction, offering a raw, unfiltered look at the bohemian life. Miller's candid exploration of the human condition, infused with philosophical musings and vivid descriptions, has made it a landmark in 20th-century literature.

Our meeting is set for September 17th at 6:30 PM, one week later than usual due to vacation schedules. The venue will be a restaurant (to be announced soon), providing the perfect backdrop for our engaging discussion.

We chose Tropic of Cancer for September to coincide with the Autumnal Equinox on September 21st. This date marks the point when the sun's position is halfway between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, symbolizing balance and transition—a fitting metaphor for Miller’s exploration of life's extremes.

Prepare for an evening of lively conversation as we explore the themes, controversies, and literary impact of this classic novel. Looking forward to seeing everyone and engaging in a lively discussion about "Tropic of Cancer." Please feel free to bring your thoughts, questions, and any passages that stood out to you. If you have any restaurant suggestions, let me know!
