Monday: Muswell Hill Life Drawing @ Common House

Common House

Life drawing for all and all skill levels in a relaxed and friendly environment. --- At The Jolly Sketcher we aim to create sessions that are a joy for models to work at and for drawing enthusiasts to come together and meet like minded, friendly people who are all there for the same reason: to have a nice, relaxed time sketching from a nude model. --- We are meeting in Common House, which is part of a new development called Woodside Square. The room is newly build, large, quiet and warm/ cool. There is a kitchen area for our break with tea, coffee and biscuits being included. We now have standing space as well as tables and chairs, so please feel free to bring and work from a travel easel if you have one. --- Doors open at 6.30pm and the session starts at 7pm. Poses last from two to 25 minutes. There is a 15 minute break at 8pm. ---- Sessions costs £10 each or £80 for 10 sessions that can be used at any time within 12 month and at any of our evening sessions. Basic materials are included so if you are a total novice we have everything to get you started. If you have preferred materials already bring them along and show us what you can do with water colours, inks or paints/ pastels. Please come early if you need to set up anything to avoid disappointment. Travel easels are welcome. Please bring newspaper if your medium is messy. --- Directions: From Muswell Hill RD turn onto Woodside Ave and walk straight down for 2 minutes until you reach a pedestrian crossing. Make sure the primary school is on your left and the Woodside Sq sales office is on your right as you walk down. Just past the pedestrian crossing, you will see a big white sign on a low fence that says Olmstead Cl (leading to Common House etc). Turn right onto that road and walk past the first building on your left. Just past that building you'll see a tiny garden square with a yellow wooden structure and just beyond that is Common House. Walking up from Great North RD (East Finchley station) takes about 10 minutes. Again, look out for the pedestrian crossing, this time with the primary school on your right and Olmstead Cl on your left. You will not pass the sales office! Buses that stop nearby: 134/ 43 (from Holloway/ Archway/ Tufnell Park/ Highgate or North Finchley/ Friern Barnet) • 143/ 263 (from Holloway/ Archway or Barnet via East Finchley) • 102 (from Golders Green or Bounds Green/ Edmonton) • 144 (Wood Green/ Turnpike Lane) • W7 (Finsbury Park/ Crouch End) Tube: Highgate station - Quickest route, Northern Line, buses 134 or 43 to Cranley Gardens (three stops) • East Finchley Station - Northern Line, buses 102 or 243 to Muswell Hill Rd (Stop K) At the end of each session you are invited to place your artwork in the middle of the room for all to see and chat about. We look forward to seeing you Monday! Best wishes, Tanja
