"The Knights Who Say NHI"
Step into the realm of identity with The Knights Who Say NHI — a quarterly social bringing together identity security, cybersecurity, data governance, and AI under one roof (and, occasionally, one shrubbery). This isn't a niche identity meetup — it's a gathering for anyone working the full stack of modern data, security, identity, and AI initiatives. Think of this as a fun, themed gathering where practitioners, technologists, and curious minds share stories, swap ideas, and build connections around how all of it fits together — preferably without anyone shouting "NHI! NHI!" and demanding a sacrifice of API keys.
The numbers tell the story, and the story is brutal: non-human identities now outnumber human employees by roughly 45 to 1 in the modern enterprise, and that ratio is climbing fast as agentic AI moves from pilot to production. Every service account, API key, OAuth token, and AI agent is an identity that needs to be governed, secured, and accounted for in your data — and most of them sit completely outside the controls built for people. IAM, IGA, CIAM, PAM, and FGA were designed for humans with managers and predictable lifecycles. NHIs have neither manager, nor lifecycle, nor any apparent intention of ever leaving. They are, in the truest sense, identities that say "NHI" to your governance program. And behind every identity sits data that needs governing and a security posture that needs defending — or the whole castle falls.
This is a round table for experts, novices, and enthusiasts alike — whether your world is identity, cybersecurity, data governance, or AI. No one will ask "what is your favorite color" before you're allowed to speak. Bring what you're actually doing right now — what's working, what's broken, what you'd never do again — and put it on the table. Developing AI applications, building middleware and mid-layer architecture, wiring authorization into legacy systems that were never meant to talk to a cloud, governing the data those systems generate, hardening the seams where it all connects — if you're elbow-deep in it, this is your table. Learn. Show. Teach. Argue. Duel. Go on quest. Nobody's badge matters more than their war stories here. ('Tis but a service account! I've had worse.)
We meet every quarter for a lighthearted evening of conversation and camaraderie — where the data, security, identity, and AI community gets to relax and dig into the real human (and non-human) challenges behind automation, service accounts, AI agents, and the next era of how it all connects. Expect honest talk about identity security, cybersecurity, data governance and stewardship, AI modernization, legacy system integration, and what real ROI looks like when you're securing a workforce that's mostly machines and entirely unbothered by your audit deadlines.
Sponsored demos will be available — but bring your A+ game, because cabbage and tomatoes may be thrown, and you may be asked to DUEL afterwards. Lose the argument? Just a flesh wound. We are an Identity gathering, but we are no longer saying "NHI." We have new and special demands.
Rules of the Realm:
- Practitioner-first — real talk, real experiences, all levels welcome.
- Under Chatham House Rule — what's shared in the hall stays in the hall.
- Inclusive — non-drinkers, newcomers, and the otherwise unladen swallow all welcome.
Our first quest begins at Medieval Times, Lawrenceville, GA — bringing together IAM, IGA, CIAM, PAM, FGA, cybersecurity, data governance, and AI professionals from across Atlanta for food, fellowship, and fun. Join the band of knights as we shape what the next era of data, identity, and AI governance looks like — one quarterly gathering at a time. Run away! Run away! (...to the RSVP link, obviously.)
