What we’re about

Otter (Lutrinae) - A cute and generally awesome animal that holds hands with other otters so they don’t drift apart. Has not been known for rude, abusive or exploitative behaviour towards other otters or for erecting sets or ridiculous social constructs preventing them from enjoying the little time the have on this planet. In spite of their awesomeness, however, some otters are distant cousins of the skunk.

Have you noticed something about most meetups? More often than not, you don’t actually manage to make any friends. Of course, it may be entirely your own fault, but very often, nobody is really at fault – you like the person, you talk to them, you reckon that you could be good friends, then you go home and suddenly… nothing happens.
So, by setting up this group, I was hoping to create a network of people open to making new friend. That was over four years ago. And look, it started to work! I’m proud to say that many great friendships have been formed through our little group.
We don’t just meet up to do stuff together – rather, we try to make some friends doing some stuff along the way (so that we can avoid awkward silences as much as possible :))
We don’t have any age restrictions – the age of our members ranges from 20 to 80. This group is certainly not for networking and it’s definitely not one of those groups “for professionals”. It’s really hard to describe an average Lutrinian, because we’re an extremely diverse bunch!
