Let's do one of my favorite hikes to Lasky Mesa to take in spectacular views of the Santa Monica Mountains, the San Fernando Valley, Malibu and beyond! The weather should be perfect for hiking!
Please bring some wine and a snack to share at the top, like cheese, crackers, chips and dip, chocolate covered anything, fruit, nuts, etc., etc.
This is an out and back hike on wide fire roads with a short, single track connector that'll lead us to the butt-kicker part of the trail. But don't worry, it's nothing to cry over...
We'll watch the sun dip below the mountains, then make our way back in the dusk/dark.
Dogs are welcome on this one as long as they're well behaved, watered and picked up after.
DISTANCE: approx. 4 miles
ELEV GAIN/LOSS: approx 500 ft
DURATION: approx 2.5 hours
DIRECTIONS: Heading east on the 101 freeway towards Los Angeles, exit Las Virgines and turn left, going over the freeway. Continue on Las Virgines until it ends, right where the trailhead is located. There should be plenty of street parking but please make sure to arrive a little early in case you have to park further than expected.
DISCLAIMER, PEOPLE! I have one and you should familiarize yourself with it (on the Pages Tab above). Read it, live it, love it!
