What we're about

CAMP - THE MOTOCAMPING CLUB is a Riders Club that brings together motocamping enthusiasts, i.e. people who like to ride their motorcycle and camp along the way. Founded in 2019 in Chicago, CAMP organizes motocamping trips, training days and many off the bike community events all year long.

Joining CAMP is super simple: you pay an annual membership of $40 either on our website or in person, at one of our events. Why should you become a member, you ask?

  • Our S'mores (motocamping trips), our training days and many of our activities are members only. By becoming a CAMPer you get to join the many S'mores and training days we organize throughout the season and you get to benefit from the very good rates that we are able to negotiate (sometimes the rates are so good they are...FREE).
  • You also get to have dinner for free or super cheap on the Friday night of every motocamping trip, and of course you always get free s'mores!
  • You enjoy the discounts we have negotiated with several vendors (details of these discounts and how to access them are listed in the member area):
    • 10% with several motorcycle apparel, motorcycle parts, camping gear and outdoor apparel vendors (Dainese Chicago, several locations of Cycle Gear, Moosejaw Chicago).
    • Up to 25% off when you rent a motorcycle from Twisted Road, using a specific code.
    • Special prices on any motorcycle tours by Temple of Moto.
    • Special prices for off road training days organized by Heavy Enduro.
    • 10% off motorcycle and bicycle hitches from MoTow.
    • Special discounts at certain times of the year with Mosko Moto (motorcycle apparel and luggage) and Fjallraven (outdoors apparel).
  • You get to know and spend time with people who are into camping and motorcycles, making new friends all around.
  • You get a chance to join well planned and curated Motocamping events in the Midwest and in the South - this year we are holding S’mores in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado. Find out more.

CAMP Opening S'more: Yellowstone Lake State Park, WI

Needs a location

#### Our first S’more of the 2022 season will take place at Yellowstone Lake State Park, in Wisconsin on May 20-23.

This is a new destination for CAMP, and one we are very excited about: the park is only 150 miles from Chicago, is beautiful, and offers the perfect mix of activities both on and off our bikes. From a riding point of view, Yellowstone Lake State Park is the gateway to the windy roads of Wisconsin Southern Driftless Area. Hiking, canoeing, kayaking are also possible in the park.

Book and Pay directly on our website

As usual, we will have routes prepared for everybody, and we will offer guided rides on Saturday and Sunday. And as usual, there is no obligation for you to join these rides: you can do your own thing, and meet us back at CAMP.
There will be a welcome dinner on Friday night for all participants who wish to join us. You can either get to the destination by yourself, or you can ride with other participants. We will be sharing an "info pack" on this S'more to all participants, as we get closer to the date.

You only pay for your campsite and for dinner on Friday (if you want it):

  • $25: camping spot for the three nights in total (not per night - this is TOTAL)
  • $10 per dinner on Friday (including drinks)

2022 CAMP Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail will take place on May 25-30, 2022. Highlights:

  • We will be camping 5 nights, in different locations (State parks, commercial campgrounds, national forests).
  • We will have a support vehicle carrying all our gear to the next campground every day: break down your campsite, drop the tent and your gear in the truck, and focus on your riding, without the need to worry about heavy luggage.
  • Meals at the campground (breakfast and dinners) included: a cook will prepare them for you every day. Just roll into camp, set up your tent, and come eat by the fire.
  • Possibility to have you and your bike transported back to the Chicagoland at the end of the ride (see below).
  • This ride is limited to 10 riders, and will only take place if we have 10 riders booked by April 25.
  • The total cost of the ride is $750 (+3% processing fee): you only need to pay $100 now to book it, with the balance due April 25.

More info and booking on our website.

You don’t want to ride all the way back to Chicago? Good news: we can transport 2 motorcycles back from Cornucopia, WI, to the Chicagoland on the support vehicle. The cost is $200 per motorcycle, first come / first serve.

#### Please note: CAMP S’mores are open to members only. If you are not a member please add your membership to your cart before you pay for your S’more. Your S’more reservation will not be completed unless you are a member.

Motocamping 101 presentation

Needs a location

Join us at Tarnish in Chicago for a presentation and seminar on Motocamping 101. We will be giving a presentation about how to pack your bike, what to bring, what NOT to bring when motocamping. We will have lots of motocamping gear for you to look at, and two different set ups to take inspiration from (a motorcycle with soft bags and a motorcycle with hard cases). We will talk hammocks, tents, cooking setups, how to plan your rides, how to find where to camp...

The event is open to everyone. Refreshments and snacks will be available. Tarnish will offer 10% off purchases made during the event.
