Day 1. Bournemouth → Swanage

A beautiful coastal walk following the shoreline from Bournemouth to Swanage via the West Undercliff Promenade. The route passes through scenic stretches of the Dorset coast, including Studland Bay and Studland Hill, with plenty of opportunities to stop at cafés and pubs along the way.

After arriving in Swanage, enjoy an overnight stay by the sea with time to relax, explore the town, and enjoy dinner overlooking the coast.

Day 2. Swanage to Kingston via Dancing Ledge and Chapman’s Pool

The second day follows one of the most dramatic sections of the Jurassic Coast. From Swanage, the trail heads west to Dancing Ledge before continuing along rugged cliff paths toward Chapman’s Pool and Kingston.

The hike finishes at a traditional countryside pub with spectacular views overlooking Corfe Castle - the perfect place for a celebratory drink and meal after the walk.

This is a moderate to challenging coastal hiking experience covering long distances across varied terrain including cliff paths, uneven ground, steep inclines, woodland sections, and exposed coastal trails. Participants should have a suitable level of fitness and confidence walking for several hours each day.

Please ensure you:

  • Wear appropriate hiking footwear with good grip
  • Bring suitable clothing for changing coastal weather conditions
  • Carry enough water, snacks, and any personal medication
  • Stay with the group and follow guidance from the hike organiser
  • Take extra care near cliff edges and uneven surfaces
  • Inform the organiser in advance of any medical conditions or injuries that may affect participation

Weather conditions and trail accessibility can change quickly along the Jurassic Coast. Routes may occasionally need to be adjusted for safety reasons.

Participants join the hike at their own risk and are responsible for their own wellbeing and belongings during the trip.

Please respect nature, local communities, and the coastline by leaving no trace and taking all litter away with you.
