Join us for the November Theology at the Bottleworks as we discuss Do We Still Have a Calling? Purpose in 21st Century America. As technology and culture rapidly evolve, our societal concept of having a “calling” (or ultimate purpose) seems more in flux than ever. In a recent Harvard study of young adults, 58 percent reported experiencing little to no meaning or purpose in their lives in the last month, and half of respondents reported that "not knowing what to do with my life" negatively impacted their mental health. Do you believe that people have callings? How much overlap is there or should there be between one's calling, career and recreational pursuits? As technology and automation improve, must our callings evolve as well? Where ought we look for a sense of purpose? To what extent is a sense of calling or purpose important to you? for a flourishing society? Come have a brew, give your view and lend an ear to others’.
