The longest-running public discussion in town (21 years!) continues this month. Here are the details:

Theology At the Bottleworks #252
Wednesday, April 15, 2026 (Third Wednesday of Month as Always!)
6:30 p.m. at Schlafly Bottleworks Crown Room

Join us for this month’s Theology at the Bottleworks as we tackle the topic “Iran, Faith and War.” At this point billions of dollars have been spent and hundreds of people killed or injured in the US-Iran war. Is this a permissible war under our laws? Is this military action ethical or not, moral or not, just or unjust, right or wrong? The US did not gain support of NATO or the UN before taking military acttion; does that affect your view of the war and/or US foreign policy success or failure? Is the war well-supported and led from an international relatiions perspective?

One aspect of the war is that religious language and principles are espoused by leaders of both Iran and the US. Are there religious matters or principles involved, and is this war justifiable on religious grounds? Does your religion, spirituality or ethic provide you a basis to understand, accept or reject this war?

There is much publicity about oil and gas prices increasing because of the war. Is this war about oil, economics, religion, self-defense, the presidential administration’s stated or unstated goals - or what? And is it making the US a better country, or worse, and your life better, or worse?

We’ll discuss all this and more so come have a brew, give your view, and lend an ear to others’.
