Join us for this month’s Theology at the Bottleworks where we will discuss “Ahh, The Good Old Days: The Political, Economic, and Cultural Implications of Nostalgia.” From “Make America Great Again” to the seemingly endless reunions and revival tours of the music and pop culture icons of our youth, nostalgia is everywhere. As beloved cultural figures pass away and familiar versions of America seem to disappear, are we simply remembering the past, or longing for a world we believe we’ve lost? Why does nostalgia feel so powerful right now? Where does it come from? What are the benefits and drawbacks of nostalgia? What role does nostalgia play in your life? In individual and societal flourishing? Come have a brew, give your view, and lend an ear to others’.
