Theology of Christmas and the Trinity -- tour at the National Gallery of Art
Details
Some Fathers of the Church, saints, and artists have linked the “earthly Trinity” (the Holy Family) with the eternal “heavenly Trinity.” We will follow this theological path to explore the central mystery of the Christian faith—the Trinity—while contemplating several Christmas paintings at the National Gallery.
This is just a friendly conversation before important masterpieces, guided by a lecturer from The Catholic University of America. Come ready to walk, observe, and engage in thoughtful dialogue.
Five recommendations:
- Reflect Beforehand: Before coming, take a moment to contemplate these mysteries.
- Be on Time! Meet us at 10:15 a.m. at the National Gallery (West Building) inside by the cloakroom of the main entrance (ground floor -- 6th Street and Constitution Avenue NW).
- Hearing Devices will be provided for those who want. We recommend bringing wired headphones or earbuds to connect with these devices for better audio quality.
- Tips Welcome: This is a free event, but tips are welcome. All contributions will go toward helping poor children in Africa (Kenya).
- Optional Coffee Discussion: For those interested, we will have coffee in the same building afterwards to continue discussing these topics.
