Our next theology in film night will be on Monday April 27, 6:00. We will be watching the 2012 musical adaptation of Les Miserables. Hugh Jackman stars as convict Jean Valjean, a man determined to create a new life and new identity for himself after receiving a single act of mercy. Russell Crowe costars as the ruthless policeman Javert who is determined to return Valjean to prison at all costs, Anne Hathaway gives an Oscar winning performance as the humiliated factory worker Fantine, with Amanda Seyfried as her daughter, Cosette.

Topics afterwards will include how we are saved by grace, how we should respond to God’s law, whether the law or grace comes first in God’s economy, and how we are supposed to treat the outcasts and desperately poor that we find among us. Come and enjoy what makes this a story that still sells out to live audiences year after year!
