It is through resistance that consciousness grows in the human being. This is why we are born into the lower material worlds to experience resistance, pain & suffering. Without this, people would not grow, and it is only at the later stages of evolution that a person looks for ways to learn rather than needing suffering & restriction. The suffering is common today with the development of the mind & the emotional content in the human being.
