This six hour workshop, an extended introduction for beginners but also ideal for those who want to try out new presses and extend the possiblities in letterpress, will use a range of presses from the Vandercook Proof Press, an historic Albion, a foot-operated treadle platen to tabletops, depending on students' interests.
It will introduce a range of creative techniques for letterpress printers, from the following selection:
—printing multi-colour posters
—embossing without dies
—diecutting without a die
—circling type
—printing with offset blankets
—using furniture for printing blocks
—multi-colour fountain
—your special request
The workshops are run by Graham Judd of Inkiana Press, formerly GTO Printers. Graham is a highly experienced, qualified letterpress machinist. and one of the top letterpress educators in the country with regular assignments abroad. https://www.inkianapress.co.nz
