What we're about

Welcome to the group!

This is a space where art classes and self development go hand in hand. Everyone is welcome with or without artistic 'talent'.

Are you itching to get creative again? Have the feeling that creativity is missing in your life? Perhaps you have a demanding life or job which doesn't allow much time for yourself? Are you looking for a new direction in life and would like to explore your options in a non-judgemental and creative way? Do you need some calm in your life? Have you been through a hectic period and need to process some difficult emotions or events?

These are all good reasons to join our events.

After more than 20 years in the field of therapeutic arts I'm very happy to guide you on your own creative and personal journey.

I run a practice in London, Brighton and on Skype where I work one to one with clients, I exhibit my own artworks internationally and facilitate workshops and retreats for various organisations.

Hope to see you soon!

Online Abstract Art Class

Online event

£12.00

During Covid19 we will be meeting in our zoom classroom :) After having taught abstract art for more than ten years at an art school in London I decided to bring some classes in Abstract Painting to Brighton.... with a twist though. The classes started in June last year and have been really popular and brought together a fantastic group of people. I have designed them as a drop-in so you can sign up for a one-off or continue on a weekly basis if you like it. You will learn different approaches to abstract painting and each week I'll offer some information on an interesting artist. The classes are usually held at the Windmill where we make use of a bright room upstairs but for the next months we will meet online. And this has proven to be a lot of fun also! You don't need any experience, complete beginners are welcome but you will need to have some materials to get started: acrylic paints, some paint brushes, a pallet/plate, jar for water, old tea towel, pencils/charcoal. Students sign up from various locations so you may not see the full list of participants on here. Make sure you sign up on time to secure a place :) Looking forward to seeing you soon! Anniek

Online Therapeutic Arts workshop - Managing Stress and Anxiety

Online event

£25.00

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed or anxious? This online workshop is designed with you in mind. In a safe and creative space you'll be guided through a therapeutic painting exercise, this method teaches an effective way to managing stress and anxiety by making use of a therapeutic and creative process which includes the use of a relaxing water colour technique, awareness of breathe and the body, identifying personal blockages and connecting with yourself in the moment. This lovely water colour technique is wonderfully relaxing and supports a calming down of your breathing and nervous system. The workshops are facilitated by myself, I'm a qualified artistic therapist with over 20 years of experience. I have a private practice in London and a second therapeutic arts studio in Brighton where I get to run these wonderful groups and therapy sessions with individuals interested in self-development. During the Covid19 crisis I offer these classes online in our zoom classroom. Materials you'll need: water colour paper, water colours, brushes, jar for water, a sponge and some paper to write on. And important - find a private space for the duration of this workshop so you can relax and tune in.1 Please sign up in advance to secure your place online. See you soon!
