About us

The Reading Room is a facilitated, book-based space for reflection, clarity, and conscious living
The Reading Room is a women-centered reading and discussion space rooted in personal growth, self-awareness, and intentional living. We read one book at a time, in full, and use literature as a catalyst for honest reflection, meaningful dialogue, and real-life application.
This is not a drop-in discussion group or a casual book club. The Reading Room is facilitator-led and designed for women who want to think clearly, relate consciously, and move through life with greater integrity and agency.

Our 2026 Theme: From Insight to Embodied Action
Each year, The Reading Room follows a cohesive arc. In 2026, our focus moves through:
- illumination and self-awareness
- intentional creation and direction-setting
- internal mastery and emotional responsibility
- relational intelligence and communication
- courageous, aligned action
Books are selected intentionally and read sequentially, allowing the group to deepen together rather than skim concepts in isolation.

How It Works
·      We read one book at a time, in full, typically over 6–8 weeks
·      Meetings are held weekly, with structured, facilitated discussion
·      Conversation emphasizes reflection, discernment, and integration — not fixing, diagnosing, or advising
·      Participants are encouraged to engage honestly, think critically, and apply insights to their own lives

Participation & Entry
The Reading Room is designed as a cohesive, relational space. Because discussions build in depth and trust over time, new participants may join only during the first two weeks of each book cycle.
Once a reading cycle is underway, the room remains closed until the next book begins. This structure is intentional and is what allows the Reading Room to remain intimate, focused, and meaningful.

Who This Is For
The Reading Room is for women who:
- want to deepen self-trust and emotional intelligence
- are interested in personal growth without spiritual bypassing or self-help hype
- value meaningful conversation and shared learning
- are ready to examine patterns, assumptions, and choices with curiosity and courage
This space is not therapy, coaching, or a support group — though many find it supportive. It is a space for women who are willing to reflect, take responsibility, and grow in community.

2026 READING LINEUP

I’m excited to invite you into something especially meaningful.

For the first time, The Reading Room will journey through a body of work written by me—Tanya Thompson, its organizer and facilitator. ✨

Beginning Wednesday, August 12, we’ll read and explore Beyond the Vision Board: Using The Storyboard Method™ to Picture & Produce Your Preferred Reality.

Over the years, I’ve watched myself—and so many people around me—work incredibly hard to change our lives. Sometimes it worked. Other times, despite all that effort, we found ourselves pulled right back toward familiar patterns. As I began paying closer attention to my own life, I could see how often the stories I carried shaped what I noticed, what I chose, and what I believed was possible. That experience taught me that our capacity for lasting change grows when we change our relationship with the stories shaping how we see ourselves and our lives.

The Storyboard Method™ was born from that realization. It begins with examining the stories already shaping where you are. From there, you can discern which stories support the reality you want to create, which ones need to be rewritten, and which new stories need room to emerge. The storyboard gives those choices a visual form—a framework for the life you are consciously choosing to build.

The ideas in these pages grew from my experience putting into practice concepts I had encountered through years of reading, study, and conversation. The book documents what happened when I began using those ideas to examine and intentionally navigate my own life.

The Storyboard Method™ remains part of my living practice—a lens I use to make conscious choices and learn from what unfolds.
