Campaign World:

Candela Obscura is a horror tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) about occult investigators who hunt down dangerous supernatural forces making incursions into a world very much like your own.

Candela Obscura is also the name of the paranormal secret society charged with protecting the sprawling, turn-of-the-century city of Newfaire—a place built atop the ruins of an ancient, fallen civilization still teeming with the remnants of powerful magick.

Though we’ve worked to collect knowledge of this magick over the centuries, our understanding of these phenomena is still limited. We know they come from a realm beyond our own, but what they want and why they’re here—that is still a mystery to us. As part of this organization, you will traverse the wide landscape of the Fairelands—facing off against unfathomable horrors within the crowded downtown streets of the Varnish, investigating strange disappearances in the cornfields of Tottergrass, even delving into the writhing underground ruins of Oldfaire—to help us stop these powerful supernatural beings from tearing the world apart.

Adventure Overview: The Shadowed Moon Case #274

Welcome to Darkholm, a quiet mining town nestled in the rolling hills of an alternate 1907 where the lines between the natural and supernatural blur. In this adventure, players step into the shoes of occult investigators, drawn into a web of intrigue, secrecy, and danger woven by the sinister cult, the Shrouded Moon.

The investigators' goal? To thwart the Shrouded Moon's grand ritual aimed at summoning the Luminary Essence, an ancient celestial entity striving to return to the mortal realm. Their journey will take them from the depths of eerie mines to the heart of the local government, confronting eerie symbols, clandestine meetings, and ceremonial rites along the way.

Event policies

Tickets:

Players are required to purchase seat tickets for each session. This ensures reliable participation by the members, and thorough preparation and follow through by the DMs. This allows us to compensate DMs for events to ensure a positive experience from beginning to end.

In reserving your seat you are committing to the DM and fellow players that you will attend, as preparation is based on number of players. Therefore, ticket sales are final, no exceptions. Please do not "drop in" to or "zoom bomb" the event.

RPGs are an awesome experience, and our tables are open to all players. We'll teach you everything you need to know, and everybody we play with is very welcoming to players interested in checking out the hobby. Players must be 21 yrs + .
