Hi everyone,

As far as classics go, November's Book of the Month is one on just about every "must-read" list. It was originally published in Polish in 1961, then translated to English and French, and then translated into English on two more occasions (apparently the original and 2011 translations are the best). It has been a radio play, an opera, and a movie (twice!). It's clearly an engaging story, so let's jump in!

Book of the Month
Solaris - Stanislaw Lem (1961)

Solaris is the story of humans trying to uncover the truth about an alien planet. It has some big ideas and becomes a much more philosophical conversation than the initial brief gives it credit for. Lem was a prophetic and highly popular writer in his time and has a fascinating story. Check our his Wikipedia entry here for more

Unfortunately, we will not be able to host this meeting on the third Sunday, as we usually do, due to a work commitment. We'll go with the fourth Sunday (just after Thanksgiving), instead. Hope to see you there!

A reminder that you do not necessarily need to read the book to join us for our Zoom meeting. Hop on in and hang out! Ask questions or just get the vibe. All are welcome :)
Cheers,
Jon
