Hi everyone,

Our pick for December nearly won our poll for October and won by a clear margin this month. The other selections we have read from Chambers have been thoughtful investigations of alien worlds and cultures. The Guardian called Small, Angry Planet "a quietly profound, humane tour de force" and "exciting, adventurous, and ... cozy". We are looking forward to reading Chambers' well-received debut novel! More details about the plot below.

Book of the Month
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet - Becky Chambers (2014)

Synopsis: Follow a motley crew on an exciting journey through space and one adventurous young explorer who discovers the meaning of family in the far reaches of the universe in this light-hearted debut space opera from a rising sci-fi star.

A reminder that you do not necessarily need to read the book to join us for our Zoom meeting. Hop on in and hang out! Ask questions or just get the vibe. All are welcome :)
Cheers,
Jon
