"Old Man's War" - John Scalzi

Hi everybody,

We're looking forward to reading our second novel by John Scalzi. Redshirts was a fun romp with some big ideas. But five years earlier, Scalzi's breakout novel won him the World Science Fiction Society’s John W. Campbell Award for best new writer for Old Man's War.

Tor's Spoiler Free Impressions says it is a story "...about ordinary people grappling with extraordinary circumstances... [and that it] never insults readers’ intelligence." Without spoiling anything, this story, Earth is a slum and traveling to interstellar space is one of the only ways out. It's a sprawling story and we are super curious about where it goes!
