Memorial Day Yosemite group camp

This is the first holiday weekend after NPS cuts. We may experience issue due to staffing and budget shortages🙁 Lower Your Expectations.

Space for up to 15. Please carpool as reservation has only 5 cars (limited additional parking outside of campground).

Hodgdon Meadows, Campground location, is just inside the North (Ca 120) Yosemite entrance about 30-45 minutes from Yosemite Valley locations. The falls are usually amazing this time of year and there may still be some dogwood blooms (no promises).

Event fee $25 cash or venmo refunded only if event is cancelled.

Friday night potluck - bring something to share with everybody.
Saturday night leftovers - eat what is leftover from Friday.

Otherwise, please plan on preparing your own food - there are fire pits and tables. Feel free to bring your own table or use the site tables. Beware of thieving animals like bears. Or pricey grills in the valley.

Suggested itinerary:

• FRIDAY, May 23: 2:00pm group site opens - arrive any time after. Potluck start about 6:45? Sunset 8:09pm.
• SATURDAY, May 24: 8:00am Mist trail - prepare to get wet. AllTrails route.
• SUNDAY, May 25: Choose routes based on snow pack and interest. Popular choices are Clouds Rest, Dewey Point or nearby Taft Point, Pohono (shuttle), North Dome & Indian Arch, Panorama (bus ride, shuttle, or 4 mile trail as a loop). (If we can't find something interesting we will be escorted out of the park 😏)
• MONDAY May 26: Pack, leave, and park at day use or trailhead before heading home. Short nearby routes include Merced Grove and Tuolumne Grove. Possibly at Hetch Hechy route. Must vacate campsite by 12 noon.

Please note:

• Parking will be limited. 5 cars in reservation - may need per car parking payment. Please arrange carpools among yourselves.
• Moderate alcohol consumption only. Please be respectful of our neighbors.
• Bring games, chair, your own food and camping equipment.
• Small tent preferred to save room. Tent only site.
• I will provide firewood if fires allowed in May (likely).
• Please no dogs. Dogs not allowed on any trails in Yosemite
