Wandering Wednesday 7-8 mile Recon in Hope Valley

Wandering Wednesday is heading to Hope Valley to do some recon for future Trail Magic on the PCT.

Lets beat the 100° heat here in Sac and head to the Sierras.

Join us on this 7-8 mile hike to check conditions of a road while exploring lakes and returning 3-4 miles on the PCT.
Approximately 900-1000’ elevation gain.

If the Sunset Lake Road gate is open we may recon by car and get more single track trail hiking and exploring. This is a beautiful semi-secluded area of the Sierras that the PCT travels through!

Come see where the magic happens. We’ll be returning to the same location with our travel trailer in future weeks, depending on road conditions, to feed the PCT through hikers. We try to do this annually. It’s an experience we’ll never forget.

I’ll show you our location and share the future dates we’ll be there feeding the PCTers, to those who join us on this hike!

Know your abilities to hike 8+ miles with moderate altitude gain.

Bring all the hiking essentials including hiking and weather appropriate clothes, plenty off water, electrolytes, energy snacks and a lunch.
Bring a swimming suit if you’re a swimmer!
