Hike @ Black Hole of Calcutta Falls & Lunch

Details
Experience the natural beauty of Black Hole of Calcutta Falls on a stunning six-mile, moderate out-and-back trail in Auburn, California. This picturesque hike features breathtaking river views and a serene waterfall as the trail follows the Western States Trail along the North Fork of the American River. Suitable for all skill levels, the hike typically takes about two and a half to three hours, depending on our pace and the stops we take. Along the way, I’ll take you off the beaten path to explore hidden gems and unique viewpoints that most hikers miss. Be sure to bring water and snacks to enjoy during our break.
Plan to arrive by 8:00 AM to secure parking. There is free parking just past the bridge along the right side of the road, but it fills up quickly. If that area is full, you may need to park before the bridge and pay.
Afterward, for those interested, we can head to Ikeda’s, located just ten minutes away. Known for its quality comfort food and homemade pies, Ikeda’s has been featured on the Travel Channel and is the perfect spot to relax and refuel after the hike.
Meetup groups Bucket of Adventures and Soles will be joining us.
