San Francisco - Coastal Trail (or SF from Ocean Beach to East Beach)

Details
Please note: We will meet at 11 & P at 6:50 and will depart by 7:00. Carpool will be arranged here unless you already have your own.
Stinson Beach is closed again for repairs. Some of the trails are overused and they do need facelift. So, for an alternative, we will head to the City by the Bay instead.
Robin and I will be leading this hike/adventure. Come aboard.
Let us all climb aboard BART and explore the stunning sights and fresh ocean air of San Francisco. The plan is to hike a varied and novel stroll across the city, beginning at Ocean Beach toward Crissy Field and the Golden Gate area.
We will drive to Lafayette and take the BART into the city catching Muni out to Ocean Beach, where our hike begins. From there, we will make our way up the hill to the historic Cliff House and follow the rugged beauty of the Coastal Trail, with the vast Pacific stretching endlessly to our left. The path will lead us through the scenic elegance of the Sea Cliff neighborhood, where the city’s mix of nature and architecture shines. Then we will work our way to Crissy Field. Depending on timing, lunch can take place anywhere from Baker Beach to Crissy Field.
The magnificent Golden Gate Bridge, taking in iconic views that never fail to inspire, and stroll along the waterfront of Crissy Field. Here, vistas of Alcatraz, the bridge, Fort Point, and the restored wetlands provide a vibrant finale to our walk. We will end our journey with smiles at East Beach, where it is an easy trip back into town for our return to take the BART.
The total distance of this hike will be no more than eight miles, with about 500 feet of gentle elevation gain, making it accessible and rewarding for hikers of all experience levels. Expect cool, refreshing coastal weather—usually much chillier than Sacramento—so bring layers, including a windbreaker, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring your own lunch and snacks, water and $$ for your driver and BART. We will arrange carpool at 11 & P to BART.
