San Francisco - Coastal Trail (or SF from Ocean Beach to East Beach)

Coastal Hike:
Please note: We will meet at 11 & P at 6:50 and will depart by 7:00. Carpool will be arranged here unless you already have your own. Please come on time. If you plan to arrive at another meetpoint (Lafayette or OB), let us know as well.

Let us all climb aboard BART and explore the stunning sights and fresh ocean air of San Francisco. The plan is to hike a varied and novel stroll across the city, beginning at Ocean Beach toward Crissy Field and the Golden Gate area. We will begin our hike there with a short detour to the windmills (approx. 1 mile) then continue on to the Coastal hike.
We will drive/carpool to Lafayette, take the BART to Powell then Muni to Ocean Beach.
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring layers as the city is always known to have a different (cooler) weather than Sac. Come and enjoy the day and do not ask what time we will be back. It will likely be a full day. From there, we will make our way up the hill to the historic Cliff House and follow the rugged beauty of the Coastal Trail, with the vast Pacific stretching endlessly to our left. The path will lead us through the scenic elegance of the Sea Cliff neighborhood, where the city’s mix of nature and architecture shines. We will hike through the affluent neighborhood of El Mar Camino and enjoy the view of the million dollar homes. Continue on to Baker Beach for lunch then continue on to the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge, taking in iconic views that never fail to inspire. Depending on what time we arrive there, we will decide if we continue the stroll with our feet or muni as this place is always full of tourists making traffic slower then find our way back to the nearest BART.
Bring your own lunch and snacks, water and $$ for your driver and BART. We will arrange carpool at 11 & P to BART and please your driver your share of carpool.
Note: BART does not require clipper for payments but you get discounts using the Clipper if you are a senior.
