Penner Lake via Round Lake and Crooked Lakes Trail

Details
Hello all.
So this is a hike I haven't done in a long time. One of the reasons I avoided it was the dirt road going up there was rough. I was talking to someone recently who said it has been improved, and is much better. That being said I'll still recommend a higher clearance vehicle. That being said I have seen sedans up there before.
We will meet at the Sunsplash parking lot near the Shell Station
Here's a blatant copy and paste from Alltrails. This lake-filled route takes you from Carr Lake and Carr Lake Campground to Penner Lake. On the way, you'll hike along the shores of Feeley Lake, Island Lake, and the Crooked Lakes. Penner Lake is called the "most scenic" of the lakes in the Grouse Lake area by the US Forest Service. Back to me talking, this is quite the beautiful hike. It shows at 6.2 miles and 740' elevation gain.

SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING (Copied and pasted from Allan Weisman): Cotton not recommended. 2 liters water minimum, light rain shell or fleece jacket for warmth in case of thunderstorms, sturdy shoes or boots, sunhat, sunscreen and lip-balm, lunch, whistle, hiking poles, and mosquito repellent.
This is a slow, smell the roses and check out the scenery paced hike, no rush at all. Don't ask when we're going to be back.
No shows and late signoffs are not okay. When someone no shows it means someone on the waitlist, if there is one, doesn't get to go. If the waitlist gets big I may message for confirmation, so please keep an eye out.
If you're going to be a passenger, please be courteous to your driver by not wearing your hiking boots in their car. Have a bag to put your boots in after hiking. Also, not everyone uses electronic payments. Please bring cash to pay your driver.
Looking forward to it!
