SUMMARY
On this snowshoe hike event in Truckee, Truckee Donner Land Trust area, and the Sierras, we will snowshoe in a clockwise loop via Teewinot Trail, Donner Lake Rim Trail, and Glacier Way Trail for about 3.5 miles with an overall elevation gain of about 500 feet while taking in the views of Donner Lake, Truckee, Johnson Canyon, Martis Valley, and near Sierra mountains.
MEETING TIMES AND PLACES
For carpooling, meet 7:30am at the park and ride lot next to Shell Gas Station on Taylor Rd in Roseville, and the address is 1821 Taylor Rd, Roseville, CA 95661. Please pay carpool driver the current price of gas per gallon.

SNOWSHOE HIKE INFORMATION AND ESSENTIALS HIKING LEVEL
DIFFUCLTY: Moderate.
ELEVATION: About 500 feet in overall or cumulative elevation gain.
DISTANCE: About 3.5 miles.
ROUTE: Start at Glacier Way Trailhead and parking lot, then snowshoe south on the winding Teewinot Trail for about 1 mile, then turn right and snowshoe on a fire road for a very short distance of about 500 feet, then turn right and snowshoe on or parallel the winding Donner Lake Rim Trail for about 1.5 miles, then turn right and snowshoe on the Glacier Way Trail for about .9 mile back to the parking lot. Also, you can use AllTrails or Gaia apps to help stay on, parallel, or locate trails buried in snow.
ESSENTIALS: Bring snowshoes/yaktracks, ski poles, waterproof jacket and pants, gaiters/or waterproof boots, warm clothing made out of wool or polypro (no cotton), sun protection gear (sunglasses, hat, etc), lots of water, snacks/small lunch, electrolytes, first aid kit, plastic bags to put your trash in, and cell phone for emergencies.
