Come join Wandering Wednesday this week at Bannister Park. We'll walk in and out of the nature maze to get in a 5 to 6 miles walk. Weather is forecast to be dry after 6 am with a high of 57° by noon.

We will head down the bike path to the first dirt turn to the right. We'll follow the main path, maybe do an out & back to San Juan Rapids. We'll then continue past Bannister Pond throughout the wilderness area along the river to the first left and go in and out switching back and forth through the nature area for about 5 to 6 miles before returning to Bannister Park. There is a restroom at the parking area if needed.

Please Do Not be a no show. Give others on the wait list plenty of notice.

Here is a link from a previous hike we did a few weeks ago. We'll do one more out and switchback than there is on this link. You'll be amazed how many trails are in this area and the diversity of some of them, like one I call Mushroom Alley!

Things to bring; plenty of water, comfortable shoes, appropriate clothes for the weather, a snack and an adventurist attitude. The ground may be slippery in spots so grippy shoes is suggested.

This hike will be about 2.5+ hours. We will be walking at a steady pace. (about 2.5 to 3 MPH).

We follow the "Leave no trace only footprints" policy.

We will meet at Banister Park parking lot. If the lot is full, there is some parking on the street but be aware and read the street signs.

Continued rain will cancel.
