My comfortable snow hike to Castle Peak (Ogul Peak, 9,098') the Tahoe.
Total distance = approximately 5.4 miles
elevation gain/loss = 1750 ft
Please evaluate your fitness before sign up.
I can go slow and wait for you but I cannot carry you:)
****You MUST not hike in front of me when going toward the peaks, specially if you are not familar with the terrain***
The climb Class III, which I have done in summer.
We will NOT do this in this hike.
You can fall into a cliff!!!! NO JOKE
We will go to the left side which connects between the ridge of Castle Peak to Basin instead.

Expect phenomenal views from this peak! Some of the views include Castle Valley, Kirkwood Ski Resort, and Donner/Judah Peaks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Snow shoes are necessary for this hike.
I will bring a crampons too (Some part snow is so thin)
Bring snowcap, gloves, sunscreen, plenty of water (3-4 liters), HIKING POLES (necessary), snacks, lunch, electrolytes and $$ for car-pool drivers. Winter layers are also necessary.

From Roseville - Taylor Rd Park and Ride (Sunsplash) to Donner Summit California State Snopark via I-80 E.

After parking, find your way back to Boreal Ridge Rd, go underneath the highway, and walk up the ramp to the "Castle Peak Trailhead."
