Jean Tote Bag Class (#4)

Ever wondered what to do with that old pair of jeans you will likely never wear again??

Tired of just giving them away or making them into shorts to wear around the house?

Well this class is for you. Bring a couple pairs of old jeans to this class and we will make tote bag.

In just over an hour!

Plenty of extra pairs of jeans will be available in class. Feel free to bring additional fabrics that are equal weight to denim. For example corduroy, twill, felted wool etc. Also please bring extra sewing needles just in case you break a needle sewing through the thickness.

Sewing supplies will be listed soon. In the mean time start gathering up your old jeans or grab a few pairs from the thrift store and swaps. There will be several pairs of jeans available in class along with buttons and closures.

Please see the supply list below: the most important supply you will need for this project will be a good seam ripper.

A working sewing machine - Please have your machines serviced before bringing them to class if they are older and have not been used in a while

(be sure to bring your foot petal and manual if you have it handy)

Presser feet for the Sewing Machine

Extra sewing needles- Sewing denim is a bit more difficult and you might break a needle

Sewing shears

Seam ripper (this will be your best friend :-)

Tracing wheel/tracing paper or chalk (whichever you prefer)

Spool of Thread - decide what color you want your stitching

Ruler or Tape Measure

Pin cushion

Bobbins (make sure they fit your machine)

Any embellishments such as scarves, buttons, other pieces of fabric, etc

A sewing box or carrying case to keep all your supplies

Patience and a sense of humor :-)
