Untermyer Gardens — Late Morning Shared Walk

This Shared Walk explores Untermyer Park & Gardens in the steadiness of late morning light. At this time of day, light is even and revealing, making it a good moment to focus on structure, symmetry, texture, and composition within the garden’s architecture and plantings.
We’ll walk the grounds together at a relaxed pace, stopping often to look and photograph. Each participant will receive a simple creative prompt to guide what they pay attention to. The goal is not to chase moments, but to practice seeing and responding to what’s already there.
This is not a workshop or critique group. There’s no competition and no pressure to perform. All cameras are welcome, including phones.
Meeting Point
We’ll meet at the main entrance area near the parking lot.
Logistics
• Address: 945 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701
• Free parking is available for approximately 75 cars at the main entrance
• Additional metered street parking is available nearby
• Park admission is free
• Pets are not allowed in the gardens
• Please bring water, as it may get warm later in the morning
We’ll walk for approximately 2 to 3 hours and finish with an optional casual lunch nearby for those who’d like to continue the conversation.
Please dress for the weather and expect a slow, deliberate walk.
