This studio session is a relaxed, hands-on practice focused on working with artificial light.

We’ll begin with on-camera flash and take time to understand how it behaves in real situations. Starting simple, we’ll work with TTL and direct flash, then gradually explore how small adjustments change the look and feel of an image.

From there, we’ll expand into more flexible setups, including repeating flash function and using an on-camera flash to trigger additional lights. The goal is not to memorize settings, but to build an intuitive feel for light and how to use it.

This particular session will focus on the Godox V1 flash system. It’s one of the most common and accessible systems on the market, used by both professionals and hobbyists. If you’re considering investing in a flash setup, this will give you a clear understanding of what you actually need, without overspending.

If you already own a Godox flash or a trigger, please bring it. I will have triggers available for Nikon, Canon, and Fujifilm cameras. If you are using a different camera or do not own a digital camera, there will be cameras to borrow (please let me know in advance).

This is not a lecture or critique session. It’s a working practice. We’ll move at a calm pace, and everyone will have time behind the camera.

A model will be present, so you’ll leave not only with experience, but with images for your portfolio.

This session can be taken on its own, or as part of a 5-week series exploring artificial light in a simple, progressive way.

The studio is spacious and comfortable, in a safe neighborhood, with ample parking and bathrooms in the building.
