This studio session is a relaxed, hands-on practice focused on working with artificial light.

We’ll take the flash off camera and begin exploring how light behaves once it’s no longer fixed to the lens. Starting with a single light, we’ll look at positioning, direction, and distance, and how each small adjustment shapes the image.

From there, we’ll introduce a second light and begin working with simple two-light setups. The goal is not complexity, but clarity—understanding how light builds, separates, and interacts within a scene.
We’ll continue working within the Godox system, now adding a trigger, lightweight stands, and umbrellas. This is a compact, affordable setup that can be easily recreated outside the studio.

This is not a lecture or critique session. It’s a working practice. We’ll move at a calm pace, and everyone will have time behind the camera.

A model will be present, so you’ll leave not only with experience, but with images for your portfolio.

All cameras are welcome. If you have a Godox flash or trigger, feel free to bring it.

This session can be taken on its own, or as a continuation of the July 20 on-camera flash session.

The studio is spacious and comfortable, with ample parking and bathrooms in the building.
