About Our Group
Building community, making lasting friendships, and creating real connections. We're continuing the relaxed social atmosphere of the former Nostalgia Games Cafe while expanding opportunities to get together, have fun, head out on new adventures, share plenty of laughs, and live the best life that we can right here within Southern Ontario.

Whether you are looking to enjoy a casual get-together, explore local outdoor trails, enjoy a night out, or meet friendly people in a comfortable environment, you are welcome here!

Why The Social Horizon?
A horizon represents possibility, discovery and endless opportunities ahead. There's always somewhere new to go, something new to experience and someone new to meet.

We're building a community where friendships grow, experiences are shared and new adventures are always on the horizon.

Life is meant to be shared and enjoyed with others, friendships are meant to grow, and there's always more to discover together!

Group Details
Main Coverage Area: Halton (Burlington, Oakville), Hamilton, Niagara, and surrounding areas.
Activity Costs: Individual events may have additional costs, depending on the activity. I'll do my best to keep costs as low as possible and offer plenty of free or low-cost activities. Any applicable costs will always be clearly indicated in the event description.
What's on the Horizon?: Card games, euchre, board games, coffee, dinners, hikes, day trips, festivals, mini golf, worship nights, camping trips, BBQs, and more!

Want to Get Involved?
We'd love to have more people involved in bringing our community together!
• Become an Event Organizer: Help plan and host a minimum of six events per year and enjoy FREE annual membership!
• Have a Space to Share?: Do you have a space where we can gather or know of any? Would you be willing to open your home for a night? We're looking for opportunities to host card games, euchre, or board game nights where we can gather. Send a message to one of our event coordinators and we can help arrange and organize the event.

Membership Dues & Early Bird Special
Our membership year runs from Jan 1 - Dec 31.
• Annual Membership Dues: $15.00 per year, due January 1st (that's only $1.25 per month!).
Joining mid-year:
Jan 1 - June 30 - $15.00 for the year.
July 1 - Dec 31 - $7.50 introductory membership for the remainder of the calendar year.
• November 2026: FREE for everyone while we transition to the new leadership!
• Early Bird Special: Pay $15.00 by November 30th for your 2027 membership. November and December 2026 are FREE!
• December 2026: For those who don't take advantage of the Early Bird Special, membership is $3.00 for December only. The regular annual membership fee of $15.00 applies January 1st.

• Out-of-Pocket Event Supplies, Venues
• Member Appreciation Perks: Prizes, special events, and other surprises.
• Non-Profit Charitable Events: If you have a registered non-profit charity close to your heart and would like to support one of their fundraising events, please message one of our event organizers with the details so we can work together to set it up.

Become an event organizer (minimum of six events per year).

• Appropriate Behaviour: Foul language or belligerent behaviour will not be tolerated.
• RSVP Responsibility: If your plans change, please update your RSVP as early as possible so event organizers can plan accordingly.

About Your Host
Hi, I'm Donna :)
I have 15 years of experience planning and organizing events through two Facebook communities. My events include fundraisers, singles only, adults only, and families including children where everyone is welcome!

I also volunteer with nonprofit organizations that make a difference in people's lives. My Christian faith is an important part of who I am, and I believe in treating others with kindness, compassion, and respect.
I love bringing people together for fun, genuine connections, and new experiences across our region. I enjoy creating warm, respectful, and welcoming environments where everyone feels comfortable joining in.

Whether it's heading out for a trail hike, sharing a potluck, playing board games, or exploring local festivals, my goal is to bring people together, build great friendships, and create lasting memories.
