This walk will take us alongside and through the forests of St. Norbert, all of which have stories of hardship and resilience, natural beauty and spiritual connection, places that are both intact and colonized. We will see and hear about the impacts and threats of development, and how they have resisted. speak to the importance of natural spaces in close proximity to human habitation for health and community.

Meeting Place

This walk will take place on the circular route around old St. Norbert, mostly on the primary dike footpaths. The meeting place is the St. Norbert Farmer's Market (under the canopy) located at 3514 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg for both walks.

The walk leader will have a sign with Coalition to Save Lemay Forest on it.

Stops include: Lemay Forest via primary dike footpath (City of WInnipeg property), Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours (historic open-air grotto on St. Pierre Street), Pollock Island forest and Sherwood Forest (adjacent to St. Pierre Street and primary dike footpath)
