Brats, Beer & Good Times: La Mesa Oktoberfest Self-Guided Hangout 🌭
Grab your lederhosen and come enjoy Southern California’s largest Oktoberfest celebration in the heart of La Mesa Village!
🚨 PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A NO-HOST EVENT 🚨
There is no designated organizer or central group lead managing this gathering at the festival. This page is set up as a self-coordinated hub for members of our community to find each other, hang out, and explore the event together!
📍 How to Connect & Find Each Other
Since there is no main host to look for, use these two tools to coordinate meetups in real time:
- Comment Below: Post a comment on this event page when you arrive (e.g., "Just got here! Wearing a green hat by the main stage").
- Meetup Event Chat: Use the live Meetup app chat to share updates, post photos of your location, or drop a pin so others can spot you.
Feel free to organize smaller sub-groups in the comments to grab a beer, sit together, or walk the booths!
🍺 Food, Drinks & Activities
- Beer & Drinks: Features multiple themed Biergartens (including the Hofbräuhaus Biergarten) serving authentic German biers, local craft brews, and seltzers.
- Eats: Tons of German fare (giant pretzels, bratwurst, schnitzel) alongside local vendor favorites.
- Highlights: Live German oompah music, tribute bands, the Dachshund races/fashion show, artisan craft vendors, and giant lawn games.
🚗 Parking & Transit (Crucial Info!)
Street parking in La Mesa Village fills up extremely fast and is heavily restricted. Public transit is strongly recommended:
- Best Option — MTS Trolley: Take the MTS Orange Line straight to the La Mesa Blvd Station. The festival is just a 2-minute walk from the platform.
- Park & Ride Lots: Park for free at nearby trolley stations and ride the Orange/Green Line right in:
- Massachusetts Ave Station (Orange Line)
- Grossmont Transit Center (Green & Orange Lines)
- Amaya Drive Station (Green & Orange Lines)
- Rideshare: If using Uber/Lyft, set your drop-off point a couple of blocks outside La Mesa Village to avoid event road closures.
💡 Quick Tips
- Admission: Entry to the street festival is FREE! Individual Biergartens may charge a small cover fee ($8 at the door) or offer VIP upgrades.
- Payment: Bring both cash and card, as vendor preferences vary.
- Costumes: Bavarian gear (dirndls and lederhosen) is highly encouraged!
Post in the comments below as you arrive, stay connected in the event chat, and have a fantastic Oktoberfest! Prost! 🥂
