What we're about

We are a group of kick ass people that want to give back to our local community!

The Social Society is a social club for social good that supports six charities (see below) in Brighton and Hove by offering time, skills and expertise to support their development and the support they can offer to those that need it most. There is no obligation to give your time or skills, if you want to grow your own community and meet new people then this is also the group for you. Our events are fun, varied and our members are genuine people who want to contribute in whatever way they can.

Our meetup platform is free and some events are ticketed but we also have a subscription based membership where the real magic happens. Here you will find local discounts, training, coaching, group discussion forums and skills banks to support our charities. This is where our charities engage, ask for your help and get the support they need.

Isolation and loneliness is still so common in Brighton and we aim, with the support of you to completely wipe out isolated communities. Fancy joining us? It was built by Magnus Volk, the first section being completed in August 1883, and is the oldest operating electric railway in the world. Although it was preceded by Werner von Siemens's 1879 demonstration line in Berlin and by the Gross-Lichterfelde Tramway of 1881, neither line is still operational. Or maybe you’re just looking for help to find clarity for your future direction? How do I sign up?
