Skill swapping, socialising, and stories of impact from The Social Society's community will be the focus of this evening with connection, and giving back at the centre.
Part one: Stories of impact ( 19:00 - 20:30 )
Listen to the stories of those supported by our local charities this January. We have some incredible stories to share.
Speakers to be announced Jan 2024.
Weald to Waves- Hear from Alex Briggs from Weald to Waves who are establishing a 100-mile nature recovery corridor across Sussex. Connecting our fragmented landscape will boost biodiversity, capture carbon, enhance food production and enrich our rural economy.
Tom Morphew, The Garden Army - Fresh off the TedX stage Tom is joining us to talk about The Garden Army Community Interest Company. They are set up to support people of all ages who are living with health and well-being needs.
Based at the Chiddinglye Estate in West Hoathly, West Sussex they are supported by a group of volunteers drawn from the local community to help create and maintain a beautiful therapeutic farm and kitchen garden for all.
The farm is predominantly being designed to support anyone who wants to get outside and experience nature to support their health.
Conversations Across Borders- Hear from the founder and CEO of Conversations Across Borders. They bring forcibly displaced people together with the communities around them to build connection, and friendship and help them learn from one another.
They campaign by amplifying the voices of people displaced by war and persecution and helping them to share their stories and experiences with the wider public.
Part two: Skill swapping ( 20:30 - 21:30 )
After choosing your sticker on arrival.
I have a skill to give.
I need a skill.
I'm just here to connect, you will have the opportunity to ask for help, offer your skills, and connect with people in the room. There will be pizza available to buy, nibbles, and snacks and the bar will be open for drinks throughout the evening.
