Are you a business wanting to give back?

Are you an individual wanting to help a charity this year but are not sure how or where to start?

If so then keep reading ...

We are back hosting our 'charity hangouts' with community partner PLATF9RM. Join us in 2024 for a community event that packs a giant impactful charitable punch.

Details

Skill swapping, socialising, and stories of impact from The Social Society's community will be the focus of this evening with connection, and giving back at the centre.

Part one: ( 19:00 - 20:30 )

In The Flow - Hear from founder Emma Anastasia talk about In The Flow a social enterprise on a mission to tackle period poverty and raise awareness around the environmental impact of traditional period products.

The Survivors Network - The Survivors’ Network is a feminist organisation that operate within an empowerment ethos. They deliver accessible, survivor-centred services across Sussex and empower communities to stand up against sexual violence, abuse and harassment through education, training and campaigning.

Same Sky - Same Sky is the largest community arts charity in the South East. Their portfolio includes projects large and small and everything from street parades to water-based theatre, carnivals to choreography; sculpture trails to fire and light spectaculars. Find out more about their work and the upcoming Burning the Clocks parade in December.

Charity stall

As an added delight this time we will be exhibiting, and displaying Jib Hagen's unique colourful and hand-woven baskets and household items on the day to raise money for the deprived communities of women weavers in Bolga Upper East Ghana.

These women hand weave these products to earn income and support their families. You will be able to purchase these beautiful items in the evening.

Part two: Skill swapping ( 20:30 - 21:30 )

I'm just here to connect, you will have the opportunity to ask for help, offer your skills, and connect with people in the room. There will be pizza available to buy, nibbles, and snacks and the bar will be open for drinks throughout the evening.

About The Social Society

The Social Society is a volunteer and events community that makes local volunteering easy by bringing both charities in need and those wanting to help inside one community.

The Social Societies social club model aims to reduce isolation and loneliness in cities nationwide with pop-up events like these.
