Beyond Software Automation: Real-Life Automation Solution in Diverse Domains by Dimitris Zikidis

The tutorial comprises 7 parts, inspired by Dimitris' professional career and personal life experiences. It highlights how automation has streamlined tasks and resolve complex challenges. We will examine how automated robotic testing replaced time-consuming manual testing in a gambling application, significantly improving efficiency. Next, we will tackle a hardware bug in the gambling industry by designing a power-cycling stress test to identify the fault, thereby preventing financial losses. We will also simulate a real player to analyze a competitor's slot machine, uncovering its strengths and weaknesses to enhance our own machines. In a complete different domain, we will scrape a website to evaluate football team performance, increasing the chances of success in sports betting. We will show also some more interesting cases that will reinforce a key principle of automation testing:not all tests should be automated.
