Hey all,
After showcasing different, non-traditional, ways of obtaining funding last month, it is time to focus on the more traditional relationship this month!
This month it is all about the Relationship Between the Founder & Investor. How do such relationships get established? What do founders and/or investors look for in potential partners? And what is it that investors have to offer founders beyond money?
There will be a lightning talk by Michael Cameron from Rome2rio and a panel discussion which will include a variety of perspectives. Our sponsor will also give you some useful tips with regards to finding the right investor or founder.

FOSTR

We are pleased to announce the soft-launch of Fostr - a new approach to investment seeking.
Fostr is an online tool that empowers investors to find and contact the opportunities that best suit them, Australia-wide. The core of Fostr is an online platform that allows a highly granular search from the investor's point of view. For example, an investor may want to search for opportunities that are seeking up to $100,000, at 5% ROR over 24 months, in the VIC tech startup industry. They can specify all these criteria and more - generating a search result list that is of interest to them. When they locate an opportunity that they want to know more about, they submit a contact form, and you receive a notification.
Fostr then facilitates the discussions/meetings between the two parties.
It's that simple.
We are currently building the database on both ends. That is, we are acquiring both funding-seekers and investors. Pre-launch (we haven't formally commenced marketing yet) we have over $3m in potential investment on the books...now what we need are really good investment prospects!
We figure that the Startup Victoria community is a prime demographic, full of good ideas, and so we are excited to put the call out to you!
Head over to www.fostrfunding.com (http://www.fostrfunding.com/) and sign up. The annual fee is minimal, and it will get your idea or business in front of the people who you really want to see it.
See you there!
