## About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

As the wealth of our richest citizens has doubled in the last five years, Australia’s collective giving has barely grown. StartGiving, the not-for-profit organisation founded by leading investor in the tech industry, Daniel Petre AO, is on a mission to change that.

Inspiring a new culture of giving in the startup community, StartGiving’s free service helps successful tech founders to start or scale their giving journey. Their aim is to create millions in new funding for charity and a vibrant community of tech givers.

Come to this webinar with StartGiving CEO, Antonia Ruffell to learn more about how StartGiving is helping founders make an impact with charitable giving. You’ll also hear from Ben Sze, co-founder of Edrolo, about his personal philanthropic giving journey.

Join this session to:

  • Hear why startup founders are wired for impact
  • Understand how easy it is to start your giving journey now
  • Learn how thoughtful gifts of any size can make a difference
  • Be inspired by one founder’s giving journey

A Q&A will follow the presentation.

### The Panelists

#### Antonia Ruffell (StartGiving)

Antonia is a philanthropy and charitable giving expert, with over two decades of experience in the sector. As the CEO of StartGiving she plays a pivotal role in inspiring and supporting successful tech founders with their philanthropy.
During her nine-year tenure as CEO of Australian Philanthropic Services (APS), Antonia guided the organisation from being a small start-up to the leading provider of philanthropy services in Australia.
She is a UNICEF Australia board member and a director of several charitable foundations. Past roles include serving on the board of The Social Outfit, an ethical fashion company that provides employment to refugees and positions with Perpetual Trustees, Mission Australia, the Royal Agricultural Society Foundation, ING Australia and The Prince’s Trust in the UK.

#### Ben Sze (Co-founder, Edrolo)

Ben Sze is a co-founder of Edrolo, an education company founded in 2011. Edrolo supports over 1,300 high schools across Australia with their carefully crafted and designed teaching and learning resources. A venture- backed scaleup (with investors including Blackbird Ventures, AirTree Ventures, OneVentures, Telstra Super, HESTA and Aware Super) with global ambitions, Edrolo currently has over 130 Edrollers working on achieving their mission.
Over a three-year period, Ben lost his sister to a 4-month battle with pancreatic cancer, and his father to a years-long deterioration in health due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Early in his giving journey, Ben and his family established a private ancillary fund in 2022 with a donation of unlisted shares in Edrolo. They aim to support a range of programs and initiatives, including education, patient support and medical research initiatives.
