Those who have loved unrequitedly know: unrequited love hurts! What’s more, it tends to hang around. This being the case, what ought the unrequited lover do? In this talk, I’ll argue that the unrequited lover has good reason to embrace their love, adopting an “attitude of affirmation” toward it. This is because all love is sublime, in the Kantian sense.
