"Love, Marriage & Romance" Conversation

Details

This evening's topic will be "Love, Marriage, & Romance." Join us as we discuss what it means to "kill the dragon, get the girl," and "be fruitful and multiply" in today's world. We will evaluate contemporary ideas about marriage, the state of marriage in America today, and whether the Bible gives us a framework for dating, romance, and wedded bliss.

đź“– Recommended Resources to Get You Thinking:

  • Book: Men and Marriage, by George Gilder. My review: Gilder's incisive critique of the disastrous state interference into the natural family (through welfare, especially) is completely spot on. It’s interesting to see how the trends he highlighted in the 1980s have matured over the last 30 years. 9/10. Link here.
  • Book: Decluttering Your Marriage, by Douglas Wilson. My review: Main takeaway: don’t leave emotional/relational clutter lying around; it will pile up. Repent and apologize as though you were the only person to ever sin in the history of the world. Seems like Wilson was influenced by his father’s writings on Bitterness. Good stuff. 9/10. Link here.
