Hey everyone!
I posted a new discussion about event organization and our party last night. If you could check it out and maybe provide feedback, that would be great!

Here is a copy of my message...
Hey everyone!
Ok so first of all...about the party at Underground last night...I personally had a blast, and loved meeting everyone, but I apologize for it not quite being a techno party. One of the DJs from Vinyl had led me to believe it was going to be a House/Techno party, with artists like Gaga and MJ thrown in. When I requested techno a million times in the beginning, the DJs kept on saying "I'll get to it, I'll get to it, don't worry" but he never did. I think as the crowd got bigger and younger, it became more mainstream. I personally loved the old school hip hop and dance vibe, but I'm really sorry it wasn't what it turned out to be!

Also, most everyone found us, but a few people couldn't, and I wanted some feedback on how to make sure that doesn't happen again. I've been there too...a couple of weeks ago I went up to Raleigh and couldn't find anyone either, cause I didn't have anyone's number, so I had to drive back home. Should we always give out numbers way ahead of time? Should we all meet at a certain time? I think deciding to meet at a specific time can help but it's unrealistic because people have different schedules and times when they can get to places. I don't know, any suggestions?

Also, from now on I will be sure to check more than one source on what kind of music will be played, instead of relying on one person who may have just heard about the scene or who is perhaps just trying to get more people to come to the club. I tried calling Underground the day of, but they didn't answer, but next time I'll stop by and confirm what music will be played.

Also, just want to say that this really does apply more for when Kim and April aren't hosting, as we all know they are awesome organizers! :) I just want feedback on what should be done when someone is hosting an event when they can't....

So sorry about the event again, but I really did have a lot of fun and those who stayed seemed to as well!
Peace,
Nadia :)
