About us
DC Metro Dining (formerly The Weekly Dinner)
We host organized, seated dining experiences across the DC metro area for people who enjoy good food and real conversation. Our events are designed to be social, relaxed, and thoughtfully run.
Before attending your first event, please take a moment to understand how our dinners work and what we ask of members.

What we do
Most of our events are dinners, with occasional brunches or happy hours. Group sizes typically range from 6 to 12, depending on the venue. We focus on well-regarded restaurants and test many places ourselves before hosting events there.
Who joins
Members range from their mid-20s through early 60s. Some attend solo, some with friends, some as couples. What people tend to share is an interest in social dining, good conversation, and being present at the table.
What to expect
This is not a drop-in happy hour group. Our events involve reservations and fixed seating. Because of that, we ask members to RSVP thoughtfully and communicate if plans change. Doing so helps keep events fair, enjoyable, and sustainable for everyone.
Is this a singles group
No. Definitely not. People come for the food and the company. Connections happen naturally sometimes, but the goal is a respectful, comfortable dining experience for all. Keep things friendly, social, and considerate.
If this sounds like a fit, we’d love to have you join us!
For full details on how our events run and member expectations, please review our Overview about who we are, how we approach events, and what are member expectations.

→ RSVP Cancellation Cutoff for this Event is SUNDAY 10a, 8/23. (Late Cancel applies after this, repeat occurrences can impact membership)Let's visit one of DC's enduring dining institutions. We are heading to Le Diplomate in Logan Circle, Stephen Starr's celebrated Parisian-style brasserie that has remained one of the city's most sought-after reservations for more than a decade. While many restaurants come and go, Le Diplomate continues to earn praise for consistently executing classic French cuisine in an atmosphere that feels like a neighborhood bistro in Paris.
→ Plan to arrive early. The restaurant requires the full party before seating. Once seated, the table begins a two-hour dining window. If you expect to run late, plan accordingly.
FOOD: Le Diplomate specializes in timeless French bistro fare prepared with consistently high execution. Recent diners continue to rave about the Onion Soup Gratinée, Steak Frites, Escargots, Moules Marinières, the restaurant's signature Burger Américain, and its beautifully prepared seafood platters. Fresh bread baked daily has become one of the restaurant's signatures, and many guests consider it a highlight before the meal even begins. Those saving room for dessert frequently recommend the profiteroles and Baba au Armagnac. Sunday's "Plate of the Day" is Duck Confit, and it's a good version in DC.
The cocktail program and French wine list are equally well regarded, making Le Diplomate a destination whether you're looking for a traditional multi-course French dinner or a lighter meal centered around seafood, salads, or steak frites.
-> SPENDING EXPECTATIONS <-
Most members should expect to spend between $65 and $110 for dinner and drinks after DC tax and tip, depending on ordering style and alcohol.→ Explore le Diplomate's menu:

→ By attending this event, each member agrees to participate using the Restaurant Week menu and the required minimum pricing.Let's visit one of my favorite DC Italian restaurants. TOSCA has long been recognized as one of Washington's strongest examples of refined Northern Italian cuisine, combining polished service, house-made pastas, seasonal ingredients, and a more formal dining experience
The restaurant is led by Executive Chef Fortunato Nicotra, whose culinary career includes earning Michelin recognition in Sicily before age 30 and more than two decades as Executive Chef at Lidia Bastianich's acclaimed Felidia in New York. During his time at Felidia, the restaurant earned multiple three-star New York Times reviews and national recognition as one of America's leading Italian restaurants. Chef Nicotra later joined the Fabio Trabocchi Restaurant Group before bringing his experience to TOSCA in 2022
What makes TOSCA especially notable during Restaurant Week is that they consistently approach the event as a showcase of the restaurant rather than a reduced experience.
→ This event requires all attendees to participate using the Restaurant Week menu
FOOD: TOSCA specializes in Northern Italian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, house-made pastas, seasonal ingredients, and carefully prepared seafood and proteins. Recent diners continue to praise the restaurant's pasta program, including dishes such as lobster ravioli and other rotating seasonal preparations, along with well-executed classics such as risotto, branzino, and thoughtfully prepared meat dishes
TOSCA has historically been one of the best Restaurant Week values in DC because they provide guests access to much of what defines the restaurant. A unique feature many returning guests appreciate is the ability, subject to confirmation with your server, to request a half portion of one of Tosca's signature pastas in place of the standard first course. This allows guests to experience one of the restaurant's specialties while still enjoying the complete Restaurant Week menu
Vegetarian guests are typically accommodated through seasonal preparations, and gluten-free pasta is available upon request

JoeNSPACE: Tosca offers a polished, upscale dining room with a classic yet contemporary feel. The atmosphere is refined rather than casual, with attentive formal service and a traditional fine-dining pace. Business casual attire works well, though guests often dress more formally for evening reservations. This is a great choice for members who enjoy a composed dining experience with professional service. They've done a great job to revitalize the space in 2021 after their post-pandemic shutdow

SPECIAL RULE for RSVPing to ANY RESTAURANT WEEK EVENT:
Lol, rule waived for this Restaurant Week period. ;)
***HIGH FIDELITY: We're heading back to Cordelia Fishbar for Restaurant Week, and this is a restaurant that gets the concept right. We visited Cordelia during the Winter Restaurant Week and came away impressed by the depth of the menu, the number of choices, the portions, and, most importantly, the execution. Rather than treating Restaurant Week as a limited promotional menu, Cordelia gives diners a substantial seafood-focused experience that feels worthy of a return visit.
FOOD: Cordelia Fishbar focuses on fresh seafood, raw bar selections, crudo, and charcoal-grilled specialties, with influences ranging from Spain and Portugal to Asia and the Americas. For Summer Restaurant Week, the $65 three-course menu offers an unusually deep selection. Starters include Hamachi Crudo, Rhode Island Calamari, Smoked Trout Roe Bump, Pinhais Sardines, Chicken Chermoula, and Honeycrisp Apple & Celery Salad. Entrée choices include Chesapeake Bay Rockfish, Whole Black Sea Bass, Georges Bank Scallops, Warm Maine Lobster Roll, and Iberico Pork Pluma.
Dessert is also a genuine choice rather than an afterthought, with Warm Caramel Apple Galette, S'mores Chocolate Bread Pudding, and a full Banana Split.
This is why we're calling this one "High Fidelity": Cordelia gives Restaurant Week guests a deep, plentiful menu with substantial choices rather than a stripped-down promotional meal. The regular menu also offers a wide range of raw bar and seafood options if you want to add something beyond the Restaurant Week experience.
→ Explore Cordelia Fishbar's Summer Restaurant Week menu: https://www.ramw.org/sites/default/files/restaurant-week/menus/CFB_RW_Dinner_2026.pdf
All attendees must opt into the Restaurant Week menu and pricing. Any upcharged items, supplemental food, or additional beverages are extra and subject to applicable tax and gratuity.
SPACE: Cordelia's Union Market space feels warm, vibrant, and contemporary, combining coastal influences with rustic materials, wood, large windows, and a prominent oyster bar. Despite the size of the restaurant, the room feels more intimate than you might expect. Expect a lively Saturday evening atmosphere, an active bar, and enough energy to make this feel like a destination dinner without becoming overly formal.
